Our PNG "Madang Short" Kava is carefully wild-harvested from Madang Province on the northern coast of Papua New Guinea. The rich clay soils give this variety of kava a unique set of characteristics. The root takes on an orange/red color. PNG is usually known for its peppery, pungent tast, however, this batch is more mellow than most PNG Kava and has been very popular with repeat customers. While most kava varieties have approximately 70% lateral root content, PNG is made of 100% lateral root, which is where the highest concentration of kavalactones are found in kava roots. PNG has a kavalactone content around 18%, making it the most potent kava we offer!  This is a must-try kava variety!

Note: We are proud to say that our Kava products have not been treated with the chemical compound Methyl Bromide (Bromomethane). This is a colorless gas used in a lot of Kava products currently on the market that has been found to be ozone-depleting and is also a potential developmental toxicant.
